In a meeting in Washington with the Minister of Strategic Affairs Ron Dermer and the head of the National Assembly Tzachi Hanegbi, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken "emphasized the importance of avoiding further escalation in Lebanon and achieving a diplomatic solution, introducing humanitarian aid to Gaza, and to plan the day after the war in terms of governance and security in the Strip and its rehabilitation”.
The meeting took place after the more extensive discussion between senior American and Israeli officials regarding Iran and Lebanon was canceled - this was against the background of the outrage in the US over the video published by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in which he harshly attacked the Biden administration and accused them of delaying arms shipments to Israel.
