Democratic-Muslim Congresswoman Ilhan Omar, a fierce critic of Israel, won the Minnesota primary. Omar, has often criticized the way Israel conducts the war in Gaza. In February 2023, before the outbreak of the war, she was even expelled from the US Foreign Affairs Committee following her statements against Israel.
