Defense Minister Yoav Galant said that the US understood that the Palestinian Authority would not control the Gaza Strip. In a recording from last night's Likud bloc meeting in the Knesset, broadcasted by Kann News, Galant is heard telling his bloc members that the US does not harbor hopes for the establishment of a Palestinian state nor for the Authority's control of the Gaza Strip on the day that after.
"The United States realized that the Palestinian Authority will not control Gaza," he said, adding: "ignore their statements, they know that a Palestinian state will not be established because Israel cannot afford it."
